When Life Happens-A true life story
A 17-year-old intelligent and multi-talented guy developed a crush on a college girl and decided to express his feelings to her. Initially skeptical because she barely knew him, she eventually reciprocated, and they began dating. She was a 16-year-old average student who had never been on a real date; she would run away shyly whenever he approached, but he would always smile and follow her. He showed her effective study techniques and helped her create a study schedule, which improved her academic performance significantly, earning her the position of assistant senior prefect. However, their relationship took a turn when she discovered him cheating with one of her close friends. Conflicted, she didn't want to resent him for his academic support, so she chose to overlook their actions.
Years later, after their graduation, he maintained the tradition of calling her on her birthday. However, she never seemed pleased with his gestures. Two days before her birthday, he sent her a message. She responded, unaware that her message failed to deliver. On her birthday evening, she found it odd that he neither called nor texted. "Strange," she thought, until she received the devastating news from his friend that he had passed away from an asthma attack on that very day. Overwhelmed with grief, her day of joy turned to a day of mourning. Heartbroken, she checked their last text exchange and realized her message had never gone through.
She carries a heavy heart; now, every birthday celebration also revives the memory of the man who left an academic mark in her life. He never missed wishing her on her birthday, unaware that it coincided with the anniversary of his passing.
